Substance Abuse Treatment Programs

Alcohol & Drug Addiction Treatment Programs

Addiction is a chronic, progressive disease that impacts nearly one out of every eight Americans ages 12 and older. Even though addiction and substance use disorders are common, less than half of all individuals struggling with this disease ultimately seek help from programs such as those found at our drug and alcohol addiction treatment center in Malibu, California. But addiction recovery is far more sustainable with personalized addiction treatment options from an accredited addiction treatment program.

At Malibu Detox & Residential Treatment Center, we offer drug addiction treatment programs such as residential treatment (inpatient treatment) individually designed for individuals seeking to break free of their addiction and improve their physical and mental health. Addiction Treatment Programs in Malibu, California

At our addiction treatment center in Malibu, CA, we offer a variety of inpatient and outpatient treatment options for those struggling with substance addiction and associated mental disorders. Since no two people are the same and every client has unique needs and recovery goals, we work with each person one-on-one to determine the most effective treatment program for them. For many, the recovery journey starts with our drug or alcohol detox program to help them get through the withdrawal process. Our detox program is just one of the many treatment programs offered at our treatment facilities.

Medically Supervised Detox

Our detox program helps our clients build a strong foundation for long-term health and recovery. As an important first step in substance use disorder treatment, detox is the process of removing drugs and alcohol from the body. Detox begins with ridding the body of drugs and alcohol, which can be uncomfortable, dangerous, and even deadly if done without the proper guidance. Malibu Detox offers a medically supervised detox program customized to each individual’s unique needs. To safely bring clients off addictive substances and manage withdrawal symptoms, our licensed medical professionals use the most effective treatment methods and medications. Our medical team goes to great lengths to ensure our clients are safe and comfortable throughout the detox process.

Medication-Assisted Treatment

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is a cornerstone of our personalized treatment plans at Malibu Detox. For some individuals, addiction medicine may be necessary for treating substance use disorders in order to overcome severe addiction withdrawal symptoms. When used in tandem with an integrated treatment plan, this approach has been highly effective in relapse prevention, reducing drug cravings, and ongoing treatment to help clients reach sustained health and recovery. With the added bonus of less physical discomfort than only using traditional therapy, with MAT, clients can focus their energy on their recovery journey rather than uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms.

Residential Treatment Program

The start of a recovery journey is often the most difficult. With so many substance abuse treatment options to choose from, it may be tempting to ease into recovery with an outpatient program. However, starting your treatment journey in a residential program is highly recommended for 24/7 round-the-clock integrated care and support to prevent relapse and pave the way to recovery. During your stay at our residential treatment center in Malibu, California, you will stay in a serene environment – with gorgeous ocean views – while you participate in intensive treatments and various therapies such as individual, group, and family therapy. Our residential treatment settings offer structure, routine, tools, and resources for those struggling with severe addiction and mental health issues. With a “whole person” approach to drug use treatment, our residential program for substance abuse and mental health disorders helps clients understand the underlying causes of their drug use and receive the effective treatment they need to overcome it. Whether you are struggling with opioid addiction, prescription drug addiction, another form of drug abuse, or co occurring mental health problems, our team is here to help.

Partial Hospitalization Program

Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) is often the next step after completing residential treatment and before enrolling in intensive outpatient treatment. We have found that the more treatment people receive for drug use, the easier time they have in maintaining their sobriety long-term. Our partial hospitalization program is designed to help clients transition back into everyday life outside of inpatient rehab and take on more responsibility while receiving care and support for their drug abuse problems. While in PHP, clients generally undergo substance use treatment six hours per day and then return to their home or sober living home at the end of the day.

Intensive Outpatient Program

If you are looking to transition from residential treatment or partial hospitalization treatment to a lower level of care, an intensive outpatient program may be a great option. Our intensive outpatient programs (IOP) have a similar structure to residential treatment with more flexibility as it is designed to help patients prepare to transition back into a more normal daily routine while residing at home and commuting to treatment for several hours, 3-4 days per week. Intensive treatment is effective in addressing addictions to illegal drugs, prescription medications, prescription drugs, mental illness, and other chronic health conditions.

Outpatient Treatment Program

Our outpatient program (OP) is less intensive than our intensive outpatient programs as clients spend less time attending therapy and recovery services. Similiar to intensive outpatient, clients enrolled in outpatient rehab do not have to live at our facility. Our outpatient program offers flexible meeting times for treatment and clients spend most of their time in individual and group therapy while also participating in other recovery services such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), experiential therapy, and more.

Aftercare Program

Opioids are a class of illegal and prescription drugs, including heroin, oxycodone, oxycontin, hydrocodone, vicodin, morphine, fentanyl, and many more. Many individuals who try to stop opioids ‘cold-turkey’ experience flu-like symptoms that last several days to a week or longer.

Sober Living Homes

Opioids are a class of illegal and prescription drugs, including heroin, oxycodone, oxycontin, hydrocodone, vicodin, morphine, fentanyl, and many more. Many individuals who try to stop opioids ‘cold-turkey’ experience flu-like symptoms that last several days to a week or longer.

Types of Therapies Used in Our Substance Abuse Treatment Programs

Our addiction treatment programs offer evidence-based treatments and behavioral therapies, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), to help you identify and change unhealthy behaviors, feelings, and thinking patterns. In addition to CBT and DBT therapies, we offer mental health services, including but not limited to:

Individual Therapy

Individual (one-on-one) therapy gives our clients the opportunity to discuss their issues in depth with a licensed therapist.

Group Therapy

Group therapy sessions take place with a licensed therapist and two or more peers in the rehab program. Group therapy has been known to have many benefits, including decreasing feelings of loneliness and isolation throughout the treatment process.

Experiential Therapies

Our experiential therapies, such as art therapy, music therapy, surf therapy, and equine-assisted psychotherapy, encourage participants to work through challenges and negative emotions by focusing on an activity that requires one’s full attention.

Motivational Enhancement Therapy

Motivational enhancement therapy is led by one of our licensed therapists and is used to increase intrinsic motivation and participation in the treatment process.
