Dr. Thomas Apostle, M.D., brings a lifetime of top-level clinical experience and a real commitment to caring for his clients to Malibu Detox and Residential Treatment Center. He has dedicated his medical practice to treating patients with spinal disorders, pain, depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders.

Having received his doctorate in osteopathic medicine from Michigan State University, Dr. Apostle’s skill set is common to less than a dozen doctors in the United States. He completed his first residency in Psychiatry at the Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center. Following this, he carried out a second residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UCLA, where he served as Chief Resident. For this reason, Dr. Apostle brings a unique combination of specialties to the team at Malibu Detox.

An active member of the North American Spine Society and the Spine Intervention Society, Dr. Apostle spent years as a leading researcher in clinical trials on CNS and pain indications. He has participated in over 40 pharmaceutical-sponsored trials as a principal investigator and sub-investigator. He was also a board member of the Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS), the leading trade organization for clinical research facilities.
